Why Small Business Saturday? Why This Year?

You may be asking the questions – Why Small Business Saturday? and Why this year?

This is the 10 year anniversary of Small Business Saturday, so it is bigger and better than ever. This year we recognize and appreciate the focus American Express puts on helping small businesses. More than ever, we need to do what we can to help drive the local economy, not only to stay in business and be more competitive, but to thrive and be strong going into the next decade.

2020 will be here before you know it and we never know what will come next!

Whether you own a retail store or a restaurant, local customers who #ShopSmall on Small Business Saturday visibly and actively show their dedication to their community. They open the doors to these businesses all day long on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

  • They stay in town.
  • They go out.
  • They shop in person (not online).

In turn, this provides stronger clients who hire service-based businesses for much-needed support such as accounting, bookkeeping, legal and financial services in addition to construction, painting, carpeting, and other “get ready for the holidays” preparations to look the best they can.

Materials offered by American Express are now available and so easy to set up, download and print, or use online. Plus, for those who qualify, you can obtain a marketing kit, for free. Order yours today and start the countdown to November 30th, 2019.

This is a great way to come together and unite the community. Show those around you that you are looking forward to helping them celebrate the end of the year. Show them that you encourage them to Shop Small. Show them that you will be open and ready to serve on November 30th.

Are you looking for ways to get ready for the shopping event? Do you want access to the latest technology with text and e-mail receipts, auto reminders, click-to-pay invoices, and more? If so, reach out, we are here and ready to help.

PS We are looking for partners who want to be a destination this year for our annual TransAct Shop Small charity and fundraising event. If you are interested, let us know.
